U.S. citizens still enjoy a typical tourist visa through 2025; no special visas needed!
Once you enter the EU you will go through immigration once; any transfers between EU countries afterwards does not require going through immigration again.
Google Maps for navigation (Apple Maps technically works but much less reliable), Bolt for rideshare, Wolt or Bolt for food delivery, WhatsApp to text our day-of-coordinator and/or any local friends you make :)
There should a line of taxis at the airport; if for any reason there aren't any (i.e. you arrive extremely late at night) you can call a ride through the Bolt app. If for any reason the taxi driver doesn't recognize "Grand Hotel Vilnius", you could show the address on the map (Universiteto g. 14, Vilnius) and/or mention "hotel in Cathedral Square in Old Town".
For the ceremony & reception on Saturday: Cocktail or semi-formal, as defined here please. For the Friday welcome dinner: a nice "dinner date" / "night out" outfit should be fine!
Love to visit and spoil all the children, but for this celebratory weekend we’d like to keep it adults only please.
You all are the gifts! We fully appreciate everyone taking time out of their busy lives and hopping over to Lithuania to come celebrate us for the weekend, so no we do not have a registry and are not expecting any gifts.
No, Lithuanians generally are fairly adept at English. However as with any country you visit, brushing up on hello / thank you / please won’t hurt and will definitely be appreciated by the locals. Although unlikely, if you do run into any older Lithuanians that only know their local language & Russian then Google Translate can be clutch.
Lithuania in early September is a fairly temperate summer with long daylight hours, mostly clear with only a couple days of light rain, and peak temps approaching high 70s and cooling down in the evening down to lower 60s.
On the wedding day itself, our day-of-coordinator Laura will be available to help everyone navigate the day (+370 6 111 1744). Otherwise on other days feel free to text Erik or Emily directly!
